I no longer have a relationship with my father… we haven’t spoken in 6 years. That being said, I realized that carting around negative emotions towards him was only going to hurt me in the end (and have no impact on him whatsoever). So I worked through it, did a lot of writing etc, and let it go. Forgiving him and moving on doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten, but it means I have a lot less baggage to haul around as I journey around this wonderful world.
