We just bought a 1990 Dodge Ram full size van for $400. It ran for 1 week and died. Needs a new tranni, maybe even a new motor, the windows don’t roll down because the electric window motors are fried. The roof sounds like it’s falling in… it’s not, but it needs to be fixed. We have very little money but that 1 week of wheeled freedom…!!! What a dream it was. We haven’t had a car for 3 years. The kids have fallen in love with the van and are begging me to find a way to fix it up. The full dream would be “complete conversion”. They want a pop-up tent on the roof for camping outdoors, racks to carry our 17’ Grumman canoe, a hitch to pull the bikes, microwave, fold down bed in back, curtains, some kind of food cooler, plug in for the computer so they can log into their online school. My kids are the best kids in the world, asking for very little. Always happy to give and share what they have with others. I would looooove to give them the “Home’s Cool Van” of their dreams for camping, biking, beach days, and traveling around the USA. ~Home School is bringing children home.
