grow my own vegetables (read all 7 entries…)

I’ve got a couple of hours on my hands, the kids need some fresh air and I’m off to the allotment to plant some potatoes and shallots, cover them with fleece and bask in the glow of having moved forward on the veg front.

The purple flowering broccoli is the best, it keeps coming back for more, or rather I do we’ve had about 6 meals out of it so far, only three plants!

It just keeps on growing

Every time I get down to the allotment I’m amazed at how much it has grown! Ah, the wonder of nature.
I’m eating my way through the potatoes and shallots and the Borltti beans will be ready soon, as will the peas.
The carrots and beet will be prime in about 4 weeks time and the cabbage and turnips will be amazing in autumn.
And it all tastes so good.

pcyclepath out of here :)

great stuff

I love growing own food, even had an allotment at some point but I travel too much and was struggling to keep up with the weeds, so had to return the keys to the allotment site. It seems you are really enjoying it all, good for you and the family and friends and everyone else you may be showering with extra veggies :)
