shedevilonwheels is dreaming of foreign lands

live in a foreign country
I want to live in a foreign country but children are an issue... 7 months ago

I have 2 children and I wish it was feasible to take them with me but not sure if it is. Especially with a language barrier.

Any opinions?

Language barriers aren’t as big a deal as people think they are. Kids in particular soak up languages quickly and learn fast. One of the smartest things you can do as a parent is ship/take your kids somewhere with a different language. ...they’ll pick it up because their minds are still developing. Fill out their passports and get going! :)

I understand that kids learn fast but...

It isn’t always a great thing to up and move away from familiar things to land unfamiliar and can’t understand people too. I would do it in a second but living anywhere foreign, I would need to have them in school…that was my main concern. English or french school so at least they could still have normality.
I am still looking into places that will take me without the diploma. :)

I don’t know how old your kids are but the younger they are the faster we’ll learn.
For whatever reason kids take to languages easily.
Go for it!
