After talking to people they seem to say that although I did Chemistry as my degree, if I’m willing to learn I can be a junior software developer for my first job…(!) At the moment I know FORTRAN (which no one “out there” seems to use) and some shell scripting. I have taken a course in python, but didn’t make much of it because I don’t have time to. It will be really interesting to be able to move into this field. At the moment I have exams to revise for, but what should I learn/take up after I’m done?

Arup Sen is reading GTD
I did chemisty too
20 years later I’m programming. It’s not big time software development but small scale web scripting. Do what you enjoy really.
