live in london
THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD. 6 months ago

I think I’ve loved London all my life. NOw I’m at university in London and it’s by far the best thing I’ve ever done. Seriously. I can friggin see Canary Wharf from my kitchen window. And I love it. I love London so much and I praise anyone who wants to live here. I’m never leaving!

It’s just how it’s so packed all the time. People speaking different languages everywhere, there’s always something going on, someone talking to you, trying to sell things, trying to start a fight. Art projects to be contributed to, cool bars to sit around in and live music to listen to. London will be my home forever.

Hii :-)

I was surfing the net looking up things about London when I ended up reading your comment. I am 19 years old, currently studying law at the University of Malta(an island in the Mediterranean). But sometimes I feel that I don’t belong here, I sort of want to move out of my country. I really wish to live and work in London. I’ve only been in London once when I was 13 and I’m finding it very difficult to find a place to live. I wish to try living and working at least for the Summer holidays. Is it possible to give me some information?

about london? What you wanna know? I mean if you’re at university you could enquire as to whethe rthey know of any programs or something? There’s always the possibility of studying abroad for a year? Loads of people do it here.

I wish to live and find work there for about 3 months during this Summer just to have a different experience and then afterwards I
‘ll decide if to complete uni in malta or not. However I’m finding it difficult to search for a flat and find a Summer job in London. Btw thanks a lot for answering bk :-)

Good luck! Sorry I couldn’t be more help. I’d say contact your uni.

Well....

Finding a job is east enough if you some experience working in a restaurant or bar. Normally people just walk in with a CV and ask the manager. They are often very pleased to avoid paying a job agency commission.

Finding a place to live is more difficult. This is a very expensive city and usually you need a months rent and a further month as deposit.

You could try couchsurfing until you find something. Gumtree.com is also good for short term accommodation. It helps if you know your way around. Better to visit first and become acquainted with how it works.
