I live in a rural village that has til now seen the internet only by dial-up modem. Soon we will have DSL available.

The village wants to have a sustaining economy. The stores are locally owned. The food is grown locally. Local jobs are needed, and I’d like to help them form a co-op that would sell and service DSL in the community.

From a bit of research, it appears that we need to form a CLEC or sign one up to subcontract the local market to our co-op.

anybody ever done this? anybody got any good links or contacts?
