I’ve decided to go the extra mile with this “healthy” thing. Sure, quitting smoking will help tremendously, and eating low fat stuff hasn’t been hard at all. I still think I’m gaining weight though. Probably because I quit smoking. Can you get fat on a box of Triscuits? Anyhoo… I’ve decide to take a more methodical approach to getting/living healthy. When I get my check-up next month, for my cholesterol, I’ll ask about what kind of physical exercise I am allowed to do. My cardiologist didn’t mention any restrictions, since it was just a tachycardia… So I should be able to do some cardio type exercises. Sigh… guess I’ll have to research it. A major drag, since I’m chronically lazy…

I started this team, ‘cause I know right now I won’t do it alone.
Quitting smoking is a really big step.
And it’s gonna have those horrid after effects.
When you see your regular physician, I wonder if you asked him about stress, he might give you some relaxing exercises to help you post-smoking and in general.
Keep us updated on how you’re doing, even when you’re really struggling … that seems to be the hardest time to share.

How are you doing?
Do you have to wait for the doctor’s approval to just start walking? I’ve always heard that exercise helps lower the heart rate. Although I don’t have your diagnosis, my heart rate is rather high, too, and I’d love to get it lower. I’m hoping that exercise will help with that as well as provide overall benefits.
Congrats on stopping smoking! What a great start to being healthy.
