learn to cook. Really cook.

Someone said something interesting to me the other day.  — 2 months ago

I mentioned that I don’t really know how to cook, and that I should take cooking classes, and he said,
“Maybe it’s just not in you, maybe it’s just not in your heart.”
He’s a cook, and he says he can taste the difference when he’s having a bad day. And that for some people, it’s just not really in their hearts… which you can taste in the cooking.
I’m not going to give up on this goal yet. I will still try to take some sort of cooking class, or at least learn a few dishes. But it is possible that this goal will never be truly accomplished. It’s true, it’s not something I really want to do for the sake of doing – it’s more because I feel as though it’s something I SHOULD do. I would like to at least learn some basic recipies though, so I’m not COMPLETELY useless in the kitchen.

And he is right.
Without love no dish will taste right. I’m not a cook but I can cook really good… and when I spend time and passion in the kitchen, I am proud of the end result.

Not necessary to make this a profession but is healthy to know how to cook for yourself.
The use of common sense in cuisine is also a must.
Start small and you may be surprised what you could achieve in short time.
Good luck!
