what anyone says, Chris Cornell is the true poet of Seattle.

I agree with you. Right now, I am so deep into my 90’s collection,I had forgotten how much I loved Soundgarden.Been listening to AIC and a side project Layne did called “Mad Season”

I invented grunge.
Of course I didn’t have a name for it but in the early 80s I had the idea of putting the stripped down sound of punk with the crunchy sound of heavy metal guitars. The whole flannel, work boot thing, yep had that covered as well in the early 80s.
I explained this once to my art-chica ex girlfriend during the height of the whole grunge thing and she gave me this look that said “you have been into Layne Staley’s heroin stash again, haven’t you?”
Just went and looked at the
River of Deceit video. Watching L.S sing “my pain is self chosen” is just sad and sort of heartbreaking.
I’m also thinking of making their song “I don’t know anything” my new theme song.
Ahhh, the 90s. How I miss getting punched in the face by skin heads just because I had long hair. The sweet memories.

“punched in the face”? Well, lets hope those days are over. We can’t have our Alec Baldwin look alike damaged. ;)

Bluepark and I are just flippin cool like that!
Okay, more her than me.
Okay! Shes cool and I’m a dork and really should’nt be mentioned in the same sentence as her.
Sir Aaron is!
I went to the grandaddy of Music Festivals in the Bay Area, the “Gathering of the Tribes” and at one point the Indigo Girls played with Joan Baez . . . then right after Soundgarden played and it was instantly a huge mosh pit on the lawn of Shoreline Ampitheatre. Talk about dichotomy.
Ice-T, Iggy Pop, the Cramps, Charlatans UK, Queen Latifah were all there. Public Enemy had to cancel (but I Saw them next year). Gah, what a show. Bless Bill Graham!
Oh, and the Cramps really did steal the show. Lux was a deranged half-naked, leather-bondaged madman humping amps and blowing microphones while constantly dousing himself in water; As if a demon had been loosed on the stage.
John2275 is watching the tourists go by.
I love Pearl Jam, and still go to their shows. They tend to record several cities and distribute them. I got a Greensboro NC copy a few years ago after going to the very same show. It was cool.

It’s the best! I love that song.

a song and singer that has so much emotion poured into it…that entire album is worth spending a few days in the CD player if you have it…
restless what difference does it make?
This is simply the greatest song…..I agree about goosebumps every time I hear it. I simply have to stop everything and listen…...not always easy as I have had it as my ringtone on my mobile phone for the past 4 years!

if I think of one special someone while the song is playing…I am guaranteed to begin crying…
Very few songs affect me in such a way…I’m thankful for powerful music…
