train trip to see the fall colors 5 months ago

it occurred to me that, living in the small part of the u.s. that actually has almost-reasonable train service, we should take the train up to new england sometime and see the autumn hillsides. i’ve spent little time in new england, and have a nostalgic picture in my mind of small towns and unhurried countrysides that i’d like to experience.

i’m giving up on this for this year. my partner’s had health problems for the last month, and i can’t make any travel plans for us until his condition improves. i’ll have to work on getting him ready for next year!
