I’m interested how many of you have seen the 2007 film ‘Into The Wild’? And if so, do places like the ‘Slab City’ even exist anymore? A place where ‘tramps’ come to share their happiness of the outside natural world in peace together.

That’s by far my favorite movie, and has basically changed my views on life, my goals and..everything.
I’m also looking for one of those places where drifters pass by to stay in groups.. All I have figured out, from reading the book, is about Oh My God hotsprings. They bulldozed it because the water was unsafe, but it was suspected that they actually bulldozed it because of all the “drifters and hippies”.
i found that really disappointing, sorry that i’m no more of a help.
If you find any places like that, still existing, i’d love to know where as well.
Yo
If you want to find places like that, they are there, I’ve seen them, im a 21 yo male and i find them cool (in other words their not just for really really old hippies who are hiding in caves) but your not gonna find them on the internet, and I’m not gonna tell you where to find them on the internet. I also suggest that if you do find them, dont post it on the internet, that’s just to protect the originality of places that are intended to only be found by way of a spiritual journey Into The Wild… That doesn’t mean you have to hunt animals and take risks eating various berries – although those things may help some ppl – what it does mean is that you have to leave your comfort zone and search for what it truly is to be YOU before you can find your oasis. The less people that do that, the less we will have oases like those.
If somebody comes up with a way for people to become open minded instantly just by attending a specific location then please, post that on the internet for all of us to see. But until then, it’s the journey that counts, and the destination needs a break.
