progress? 8 months ago

so i think i’m getting better at it – but i still make more noise then normal walking.

is there any way to walk in heels without sounding like i’m stomping? becuase i’m prety sure that other women don’t always make such noisy entrances.

High heels

It is an art to walk in high heels. I think if you are making a lot of noises when you are walking that they are probably too big and they are falling off your feet….or it is just the fact that you are putting all your weight on your heel and not your toe. I love heels but comfortable ones are a must….

thanks!

the shoes aren’t too big and falling off my feet.
it’s probably because i’m putting my weight on my heels. i guess i do that in normal shoes – just habit.
i didn’t know the secret was to walk on your toes. next time i’ll put all of my weight on my toes and see if that fixes the noise.
thanks!!!

That should work. I’m told the main difference in walking technique in heels is to put down your whole foot at the same time, which means making a conscious effort to bring your toes down sooner than usual.

Stompin in Heels

I say stomp and drown out all those other women. All high heel wearers sound like a herd of Clydesdales coming down the street!
Don’t stress, just do!

same problem

the noise makes me feel pretty self conscious – i want to be a presence wherever i go, but i don’t want all that clomping to introduce me, you know? is it possible to walk correctly in heels and not think about it? i’d love to get to that point – but i’m still in the awkward stage :(
