that now she can read small stories with a and i sounds! She is also now motivated to read more… may be just about a couple of weeks to go … yeh… :)

Have you used
Books on tape or CD’s? They are a nice way for her to practice and track the words as she follows. Learning to read is a process that takes time. The more encouraging you can be, the better. This is more accepted by children when it is a hapyy experience. Your being upset or frustrated may make her anxious, nervous and unable to read fluently. Hang in there~

Yeah, i know...
and I have stopped getting at her. She now on her own seeks books to read and asks me for help if required. Yes i use tapes and cds. She loves them (no anxious mom peering over her shoulder ;)
