lose weight (read all 29 entries…)
I have reverted back ....... 19 months ago

to my old eating habits this week. Ugh! It felt good at first but now I can’t seem to let go of it. At first it was a nice break from all the “good” food but now I’m paying the consequences. When I was eating good I felt better, slept better, got more done. Now all that’s reversed. And all I keep thinking about is that big number: all the weight I have to lose. I should not be surprised if there’s a weight gain on Monday’s weigh in. Amazingly, my back pain has not returned but if I keep this up it just might. It’s really hard to change old habits. Why, oh why…...

it's just a small slip

don’t let yourself get discouraged or feel bad if you mess up occasionally – you’re not “reverting,” you still have all these great eating habits that you know make you feel better. Like smoking, you can take your eating habits one day at a time, e.g., “Today, I will not eat (cake, potato chips, whatever).” Then tomorrow you can decide again.

Wanted to cheer this.....

but I’m out of cheers. Anyway, thanks for reminding me of the “one day at a time” thing. My brain always immediately goes to the weeks and months and then I start to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Feel free to remind me anytime to keep me on my toes (and focused).

LOL

Yeah, I guess that’s all we can do. Just keep at it. Have a great weekend.
