i had a hard time looking for sunflower seeds [weird i know!] but i found a packet of empress sunflowers yesterday at our local gardening store. there was just ONE packet left! so i bought two more kinds of flowers: californian poppies and catmint :-D i also bought some gardening tools.

i started on my flower bed today and it was hard work :-| the bit of land i have here at home is a bit rocky so i did a LOT of digging… i’ve read on some websites that i’ve to dig at least a foot deep before i can put proper gardening soil, mulch, fertilizer, whatever and plant my flowers. oh dear me, it is a lot of work but i am determined to put some colour in my garden and make things grow :-D here’s what i’ve done so far:
