Quit my job (read all 4 entries…)

Worth doing!

Words cannot express how much I want to do this!  — 2 months ago

I hate my job. Hate.

But I have to be responsible about quitting, especially in today’s economy.

The plan…I am contacting potential employer #1 tomorrow. I worked for the company for 4+ years in college and am 99% sure that I can get a position with them, but that 1% doubt is what has kept me from leaving my current job.

I already spoke to HR and have figured out how to handle my benefits from now until the day I leave.

I hope to have my resignation (the letter is already written) turned in by this Friday and my last day to be June 1st. I can’t wait to leave!

Update us on how it goes. I need to quit mines and I stupidly took up a counteroffer when I turned in my resignation letter.

I hate my job too :( It’s the economy that’s scaring me a lot too about quitting.

Potential employer #1 has not called me back yet…now I’m scared to jump the gun & quit until I hear from them.

Oh the counteroffer…I have mixed feelings about that. I want one to know where I stand w/ the big-wigs, but I don’t want one b/c I want to leave w/o temptation!

At least you know you are valuable to the company.

The management. Not all of the managers, just the one directly over me and the one directly over my department for the region – that is, the two most important big-wigs for my position. The one directly over me is an emotional basketcase and runs the dept. as such and the one for my region is a J-E-R-K! Mind you, I’ll take a jerk of a boss any day over one that can’t control their emotions, but the combination is slowly killing me.
