After extensive consultation with my rheumatologist and OB/GYN, the collective decision was to, if at all possible, avoid the risks inherent in any surgery performed on an immune-suppressed subject. (Many of the drugs used to control rheumatoid arthritis inhibit immune response.)
Given this, back in March I had a Mirena IUD inserted, and so far, so good! However, if this had not worked out for me, the next step would have been the ligation.
