I have never wanted to be an independent person (yes, of course independent from my mother, but not from a dating perspective) I have always had a serious relationship that I was in and would live with my boyfrieds. About a year and a half ago I broke up with my boyfriend who was living with my parents and myself. I jumped directly into another serious relationship where I was living with him 6 days a week. I just recently became on my own (against my own wishes) and I feel that I need to be independent and able to take care of yourself before you are ready to be in any long term relationship. There are many things that I need to work on before this happens. 1. I have to save money-I have been awful at this since I was small and I don’t have much money to save-right now I am living paycheck to paycheck and am really not successfull at it. 2. I have to buy a home of my own-I would love to rent and move away from my parents but right now that is not possible and also not the smartest idea-I live at my parents free of charge. 3. I have to mentally be ok alone….This has been one of the biggest problems for me, I don’t know how and even though I have been in the swing of the single life for about 6 months now I still am having a hard time with it.
