A Girl in the Curl is back in school

tea with a friend yesterday 20 months ago

He listened to the whole story (not used to people listening to me, it was an odd and refreshing feeling)

He said he thought the best thing would be to suck it up and go back to NYC. It sounded to him like it was too hard getting into another program, and when it was all said and done, in two years, I’d have a Master’s in Anesthesia and that I could sit for boards with that.

He’s impartial, and very smart, so I listened to what he said.

he also said he thought I was self-sabotaging.
I have to mull this over…It’s a big fish to swallow.

Could it be true?
Hmmmm

good question

though that kind of thing is particularly hard to think about, I know.

Along with being an expert in the impossible!

This wasn't...

...that instructor you had who wanted to ball you, was it?

Holy Hell

You’re something else.
You’ve got some sort of radar.

How did you figure that?

We have tea/coffee thursday mornings at a coffee shop near school for an hour or two before he has to go teach a late morning lecture.

He’s become a better friend, and we’ve talked about what transpired and misunderstandings have been cleared.

Now, go ahead and tell me I’m wrong. I think, because of his heart condition (he’ll probably have to have a transplant in a few years) and my CCU experience, we talk more about that than anything. And argue politics…he makes me so damned mad.

Other than that, it’s pleasant.

Well, good, I'm glad.

Just one thing…

There was no misunderstanding. He got busted and played it off.

Hey, I’m glad you guys are friends. That’s good thing…but he’d still nail you at the drop of a hat.

We’ve become such good friends, it just seems like the next step, honey…

A Girl in the Curl is back in school

cheeze.

I doubt 1.5 hours every other thursday is going to lead to that logic.

Plus, he teaches summer classes in a few weeks, and he’ll lose that free couple of hours so I won’t even see him Thursdays.

He said “well, I’m done at three, those days” but that’s in the middle of my sleep day, so I’m preparing him for the bittersweet end of our tea-times.

Right now, I’m only up because my hubby is out of town visiting his folks, and my “four-legged son” is used to his meals being served at certain times.

I’m fighting the urge to go back to bed for four hours and sleep til 9 or 10, or just staying up and going to bed early tomorrow morning and get my sleep shifted back to morningns :|

I hate this.
Thanks for the inpuut, Unc. It’s always nice to have the added perspective :)
