I think this kind of eating schedule would prove to have a few benefits I’m after.
Firstly, it would make me crave less food when I’m hungry, for a number of reasons: particularly, my stomach would probably get smaller from not having to hold entire meals often, and also, even if I am rather hungry, I can put off eating the extra couple hundred calories I’m craving til my next meal.
Also, the frequency with which I’d be preparing and consuming food would probably fool me into thinking I’m eating more. And I would never feel stuffed. I don’t like feeling full.
I have to mention that it would probably cause an increase in the amount of water I drink, as it’s natural for me to have a glass/bottle with each meal.
Finally, it would give me a little more freedom to have many different types of food per day. Instead of having to prepare an entire meal that would give my palate one or a couple tastes to play with while I digest for a span of hours, I can have a temporarily filling smoothie or a small PB&J at noon knowing that I can make a small Thai dish in a couple of hours if I please.
I really enjoy cooking for the week, anyway. For example, I love to make a big blender full o’ hummus so that Bill and I have something to snack or dine on that will last a week or more depending on storage. Hummus more or less always takes the same amount of time to make, no matter how much I’m making, so that works. Anyway, what I’m saying is I can just make sure I have enough fixins lying around the kitchen so that small meal prep isn’t a problem.
It would probably help with eating out, too, as that can get costly. If I only need one roll when I go out to sushi rather than two, I’d be saving a lot of [Bill’s] money. :P
This isn’t a long term goal. I just wanna see if it’s the eating schedule for me.
