New Isabella embracing impermanence of disorganization and clutter this afternoon

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I'm grateful. (read all 87 entries…)

Saturday gratitude.....  — 3 months ago

1. For roses. My two remaining rose bushes continue to bloom in spite of my lack of care, and the second round of blossoms is just beginning now. One bush has red roses, and the other has pink ones. They are such beautiful flowers.

2. For good news from a friend early this morning. She was wonderfully persistent in solving a serious problem yesterday, and I am so proud of her and happy for her and hopeful for her.

3. For good things happening in the life of another friend, and amazing progress that she has made in the past few years.

4. For the opportunity to get together with friends at dinner last night.

5. For feeling tired today. I think it is a tiredness from actively doing so many things this past week, rather than a tiredness from depression or illness (underwork) or exhaustion (overwork).

6. For making progress this week on my finances, and for receiving a supercheer from MamaKitty as a reward, as well as cheers and support from many other 43-T friends. Thanks!

7. For the basics. For food to eat, clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, a roof over my head. In light of the tens and tens of thousands of people in Myanmar and China who have died or who are fighting for survival this week in the wake of huge natural disasters, I have nothing to complain about, and everything to be grateful for.

Very Nice List:)

Isabella, can I pick your brain for a moment?
Remember we were talking about my empty flower patch:( Well, I was wondering if you knew if those lovely coloured shrubs are scented?
thanks,

Do you think the shrubs are nandina?

If that is the correct identification, I’ve got some of these shrubs growing in my yard. They do have white flowers, followed by red berries, but I don’t know if the flowers are fragrant or not. My lawn service keeps them well clipped, so that mine don’t have very many flowers or berries. I just now went outside to get the mail, and smelled the leaves, and they don’t have any particular scent that I can detect. I also checked out a few web sites, but couldn’t find anything out about scent.

I have a friend who’s a master gardener. Maybe I’ll ask her. Or, if I’ve got the wrong name, let me know.

Are you thinking of planting them in your flower patch?

Love & (((hugs))))

Thanks Isabella:)

I’ve no idea what the name of that particular shrub is.
I was thinking if I could find some shrubs with lovely bright colours, but no scent – that they’d be nice in the flower patch.
But my knowledge of gardening is nil:) I’d no idea shrubs flowered.
Maybe I’ll have to rethink the whole thing.

That is a lovely Rose

:-)

emchik is loved. And it feels great!

Did you take that picture?

Either way, it’s a lovely picture of a rose.

It is a lovely picture,...

...but I did not take it. It is the same shade as my pink rose, though. :)
