Flick throughsome books at your local library. Choose something that covers a great deal like ‘the history of art’ or similar.

Then, focus your learning on styles, or techniques that you like the most. You can branch out from there, and you’ll enjoy it too.

If you heve some spare time, just have a look around art galleries and museums. You don’t have to pay (though sometimes larger galleries will have a ticketed section which changes every now and again – they don’t charge too much). Just stroll around. If you like something, good. If you don’t, it doesn’t matter.
