Visit Iran
Isfahan 19 months ago

I was in Istanbul and while there I was invited by an Iranian woman (a fellow traveler like me) to Iran. That was in May 2007 and a year later I found myself in Isfahan. I’m not a hardened traveler and also I didn’t organize anything so I thought I’d just go with the flow. Yeah well you can do that in Iran as people will help you and even invite you to there homes. In fact it’s so personal that having lived (probably too long) in the UK the friendliness is disconcerting. I don’t know, there just wasn’t the time to get a grip on life in Iran let alone it’s history. I can see another trip but i’m not sure when as I left with my heart bruised and that takes time to recover from. In fact I was surprised at how upset I was on the plane going back, who’d have thought I’d be effected in this way? But then they say Iran is a country of tears.
So it made an impression on me like no other place but I’m over it and it’s time to move on, so where next?
