I started on a PhD for the first time in 2003, but wasn’t very committed. I worked full-time (not in academia) and had very little support from my supervisor. 2 years later I gave up.
In April 2008 I launched my second try. I took on a part-time job and will now try to make it happen. But it’s tough, without a job in academia.
Hi, I have had a hard time too and dont know if I will actually finish in time (July 08 is the deadline).
HOWEVER, if you have come back to it certainly you want to do it, and in my experience when someone wants to do something… they do it.
SO, get to it. I am doing the same on my side.

Hello, I have actually managed to hand it in on time! Amazing. Many sleepless nights in the past weeks. (NO) Blood, Sweat (YES) and Tear (YES) were needed… along with determination and self motivation. essential!
Now I am v tired. I going to sleep… for a week if I can.
