Jessy is light of heart

do the things I dread (read all 9 entries…)
I also dread . . . 18 months ago

sewing buttons on.

My khaki pants (several pairs) have three buttons at the waist. I am down to one, two, or zero buttons on every pair. I think they were not sewn on that well in the first place. I have the buttons. I have a needle. Thread? Not sure I have any that is not ancient.

So, to do list:

Buy khaki thread
Sew on buttons, though I would rather disembowel myself and let the cats lap my entrails.

Maybe I can get Nick to sew them on . . . fine motor skills therapy, anyone?

Comments:

RP is swimming through paper.

this is why

you find my clothing goals so inspiring; it is because you secretly dread yours!

I put this off too, but it never is really that bad.

Yes, probably so . . .

you are fixing and repairing while I am whining and procrastinating. No wonder you inspire me!

Tink will be returning in baby steps.

Isn't there some kind of gizmo...

...that fastens buttons on with one punch? Sort of like a staple gun, only for buttons?

I thought, er, sew.

Apparently it also fixes gaping blouses (quiet, Unc!), hems clothing, and keeps armchair covers in place.

I loves me a gadget. Just spent a scintillating Saturday evening getting intimately acquainted with my new professional clothing steamer. I ain’t never ironing again. And I can tell my co-workers that my weekend was steamy.

Hmmm . . .

But it’s just a temporary fix?

Aggh, I may as well stick to needle and thread . . . though that does look rather handy!

catattack loves the Fall!

I just had the greatest laugh ...

reading this “thread.” (sorry for the pun…oops, laughing again!)

Very, very funny. thank you!

Jessy has gotten 2 cheers on this entry.
