have a tea party
totally what 19 and 20 year olds would do 4 months ago

what a lovely excuse to hang out with your friends and dress up in pretty clothes. and drink tea. i do hope the weather will be good.

what does one do at a tea party besides say “lovely, i’m at a tea party” and drink tea and eat cookies (i mean biscuits)?

Be Different..think out of your box..

Hi.. I am almost 3 times your age, but went to my first TEA at “The Ritz” last year. It was costly but elegant and calming/relaxing etc.

For your age, yes, dress up, but say dress in something that represents the real you…and that includes the hair and makeup too.

Talk…make very unusual little sandwiches and deserts with odd ingredients you normally don’t eat. Create something new like a butter toasted bread with sauted onion with a slice of onion and olive and 1/2 tomato with a dab of smelley cheese melted on top! We ate some odd stuff at our, but it was different.

Maybe invite 4 friends and ask that they invent 2 things for each of the 4 of you to eat.

You can talk about why you dressed the way you have..what it means to you now and in the future. Then while eating talk about how each made the little sandwich or desert.

For those who don’t like tea..the Ritz also had hot chocolate..sooooo rich!

Act like it is an experience to remember and it will be. Have fun!

Thanks for the good ideas

It’s a good excuse to have people over, because I haven’t seen my friends for a couple weeks. And an excuse to wear a dress I bought but never wore. I still don’t know when I’m going to do it (sometime this summer). And I’ll definitely go with some of your suggestions :)

laurelelizabeth has gotten 2 cheers on this entry.
