Retrieve my data from the LaCie Rugged drive (read all 3 entries…)
Apparently... 18 months ago

the dude at LaCie is going to send me out some new cables to try. Let’s hope that’s all it is. In the mean time, I’ve got hold of an email address to start writing complaints to, should the cables not solve the problem. (Not that I’d be holding my breath on achieving anything, but it’d be worth a try.)

This weekend I’m down in London (thanks to a mandatory training course at 8:45 am on Saturday), so I’ll pick up my other drive, and copy some data back from that. If I get paid in time, I may do some shopping around for another drive. Different brand, of course. Anybody have any recommendations?

Makes me feel a little less like a dunce for picking what turned out to be such a dodgy drive. ;-)

I’m starting to think it’s a little like trying to predict lightning strikes. Either you’re lucky and your drive works well, or you (and your data) get fried. I’d always thought it was a great brand… mostly ‘cause that’s what I’d read. However, after I had problems and started searching for answers, I started to find posts like this.

Guess I’ve got some more researching to do.
