I live here. So far its been pretty nice. A bit hot though not much difference from Arizona in the States where I previously lived. Ok I wish there was a cinema here but movies are cheap to buy on dvd so I can do without a cinema or ham. Plus they have beefham here and you really cant tell the difference between the two. Saudis a nice civilized country and it reminds me of Phoenix with a few more restrictions.

have a nice stay
i hope u have a nice stay here , some media make saudi arabia a horrable place but i hope u can judge urself
cool
what do you like most about it im saudi btw its good to see that people from other countrys are intrestid in ours some people go and give a bad image just couse they miss understand our customes but some thing i hate is the crowded streets lol i live in riyadh and it takes over 30 mins to go through tahliya or king abdullah st
I live in Riyadh too. The traffic at times can be annoying but I like a lot of things here. I like Schwarma from the Mama Noura Sandwich shops and how a lot of things are cheaper here such as gasoline and a lot of sodas. I do miss eating real ham and bacon but I eat that when I go to Bahrain and theres beefbacon and ham here so I can survive. I like my compound (Jadawel) and how theres a bus that goes places every day except friday which is convenient since I’m only 16 so I dont have a car (but I have a U.S. license) and I dont want to buy a car.
It’s the opposite for me. I am Saudi and I live in the states. I like it over here and of course I miss the Saudi food such as shawrma and Al-Baik.
Living here is very different than Saudi Arabia. In KSA, I could relax and I didn’t worry about anything. Here, everything is a mess. Gasoline prices are very high, insurance is a problem and costs a lot and we’ve to pay a monthly rent. I miss home and I miss Makkah, mosques, and the call for the prayers the most.
However, I love the American people. They are my friends and neighbors and believe me they are very nice and innocent.
I can understand how you miss shawarma. I was not a fan of pita bread until I moved here. Now I love it as long as it has the fillings from a chicken swarma from mama nouras wrapped in it. lol… anyways I do think women should be allowed to drive here. also another pet peeve is that when it comes time for prayers everything closes for a half hour at a time. gas here is 48 cents a gallon so my dad doesnt mind paying for gas here. I like how theres no sales or income tax here. I’ve never been to Makkah as I’m not muslim so I wouldnt know what its like there. However I do miss my friends in the U.S. and being able to do certain things such as going to movie theatres, working part time after school, hanging out with friends and girls outside of school, eating real ham sandwhiches (sorry if this offends you but I am a fan of real ham and bacon). So Saudi and the U.S. have their good and their bad. As much as I’ve enjoyed living here I look forward to returning to the states this coming summer for college.
