Raise a daughter who is confident in math and science
I had to adopt this one. 18 months ago

We are off to a decent start but we could use a boost and a constant reminder. With all that has been going on I have strayed from this goal. Not to mention the resources are lagging in this state. Thank goodness for the internet.

Prof. Wormwood is an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky!

Are you in Houma, LA?

I was a middle school science teacher for 10 years and am now finishing up my doctorate in science education. My colleague who finished up a year before me took a job as a science ed professor at LSU. He really does want to make a difference in the state of Louisiana. My cousin just wrote her 100th book on science for kids. Her name is Vicki Cobb and I’d recommend “We Dare You”. She also has a website with videos of kids (some of my students) performing science activities from the book. http://www.vickicobb.com Check it out. Your kids can even contribute to her video project. They would love it and learn at the same time. Yesterday I came across a very good website about women in science and engineering. It’s audio-based, like radio broadcasts. http://www.womeninscience.org/
Hope this helps.

Yes I am in Houma LA

Thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it.
