contemplate getting a moped for my daily commute (read all 2 entries…)
I just saw this on Faustus' list 18 months ago

and I have been contemplating this for a couple of weeks now! Making it a little more concrete here. It will depend on where I teach in the fall and whether I can commute that far on something electric, or if I will need gasoline.

I enjoyed the helpful hints from the commenters. The more mopeds on the road, the better. People will become more aware, and reducing consumption and a lot of pollution!

I have been thinking about it since I was in grad school, when my (late) brother-in-law was working at a cycle shop in Arkansas. My problem then was not having a garage to charge an electric one at night, which may still be problematic. I am hoping to go to the shop he last worked at here for some advice.
