I jumped in on your goal. I work at a coffee shop during the day and a bar at night. I can just feel my body collapsing in.I gotta pack real honest food from now on.

John, glad to have you working on this goal too!

I’m finding that a gentle approach to this is working a lot better than beating myself up. I’ve eaten a few less than ideal meals since I posted it, but simply having “EAT FOR HEALTH” as a mantra has been helping me a lot.

I can only imagine that the coffee shop/bar routine is murder on one’s diet.

I have become a fan of hard-boiled eggs as a way to keep a “Fast” healthy protein source in my fridge. They are really easy to do: if you need a recipe, try this one.

Let’s cheer one another as we get healthier!

a big fan of hard boiled eggs too. According to the naturopath who is teaching my nutrition class it is best to get the majority of your protein in before 3pm. Having some protein at breakfast (like in an egg) is especially important because it will help anchor you for the day. If you eat only carbs for breakfast they will burn off too quickly and won’t be sustaining. It was nice to know something I did sort of instinctively (eat eggs for breakfast) is really a good idea. This doesn’t mean no carbs at breakfast but have them with protein like fruit or some sort of healthy whole grain and or some beans. Like eggs and rice and beans together are a great breakfast.

I had no idea about getting protein in the morning. I can definitely do the eggs. Do you suggest those shakes on days I don’t feel like eating eggs?Thanks Friede.

Yeah

those shakes are ok. You wouldn’t want to do them all the time. They sort of fall into the category of fake food because they’r so processed but in a pinch they are fine.

Also yay you for the veggies and dip. Basically, you can eat as many vegetables as you like, they are super good for you.

4:45am Just got in from work.

Sorry it took so long to get back! I did pack food the last 3 days. I put together a raw veggie plate w/ dip. It may not be very healthy but it is better than what I was doing before. Now, the egg idea sounds great! I always loved egg salad sandwiches. I appreciate that you took the time out o respond, Adar. Thank you kindly.
