his name was Pokey and he loved to eat meal worms and lady bugs.

I had one for three years, her name was sampson. I thought she was a boy forever, hence the name. She had a brain tumor and had to be put down, that was like…8 years ago. I still have her picture at my desk. She was so easy to take care of and pleasurable, but my vet said not all hedgehogs are social like she was (she was raised in a classroom). So, I still haven’t gotten another one, I’m afraid of ending up with a mean one.
She loved meal worms, egg yolks and dry cat food.

So you want to make sure you get one from a breeder so that they have worked with them from the time they are born to get them used to people.
