read all the novels of charles dickens (read all 10 entries…)
i once got good advice on reading proust

it was not to begin with Combray, the first volume of remembrance, but to start with the more linearly-plotted volume two, swann’s way.

i think i’ll have to adopt a similar strategy with dickens. i can never get through the amusing but episodic pickwick, and once again i’ve stalled out after a few chapters.

what’s next? oliver twist? i’ll circle back to pickwick once i’ve developed some momentum.

my, reading is complicated!

pioneerspirit is re-discovering 43

thanks for the insight

into “Rememberances”, am starting on “Swann’s Way”, only because it was what in at the library, but now i feel better about it.

trying to remember...

but i think swann’s way is the title of the first book, and it begins with combray, and is followed by something with “swann” in it… all in the same volume

but i have to check

i was a bit uncertain when i wrote the entry, but thought what the hey…

i’ll look at the books when i get to them (wouldn’t want to missinform!)

me vol one's gone missing

although i can’t comprehend how that could have happened

anyway, i think what i said above is right (and not misssssinformation)
