during my Mega long session regarding food, the Doctor asked me if I wanted to be in love again. I thought it was odd. He didnt ask if I wanted to be in a relationship, or get married or anything, just if I wanted to be in love.
Interesting question. I am not sure. In theory it sounds nice, but the reality is usually a little different. I’m keeping the goal, but it may be futile, as people tend to want to hook up with people who don’t have messy lives.

My dear, EVERYone has a messy life in one way or another. You don’t have to be perfect to be loved, otherwise there would be a lot fewer people getting together in the world. This is a great goal and you deserve to find someone as special as you are!

I totally agree

with Carm! We all have messy lives in some way. Or most of us anyway. And I have to say, I quite often find people who have had very easy lives quite boring. Having to deal with difficulties does make people grow, and I think it makes us more compassionate, since we know from experience how difficult life can be, it`s easier to be understanding of others.
No reason whatsoever that you can`t meet Mr. Right tomorrow! :)

I could not have read your response at a better time. Right now I’m going through a lot of difficulty in my life and what you have to say is so true. Makes me see things in a different light. Thanks for sharing.

the day after you wrote this, someone did start to pay a bit more attention to me….so who knows. Not holding my breath though, as I am unsure of his age, life experience, etc…

I believe this is the sort of goal that sometimes you make the most progress when you’re not “trying” so hard. Enjoy the extra attention regardless of where it leads. You deserve it! :)

But, perhaps you ought to reevaluate your attitude toward a relationship. When you say “as people tend to want to hook up with people who don�t have messy lives” it concerns me. My wife and I have been in love for 38 years, married for 36 of those years, but I would never think of us as being “hooked up.” Our lives were messy before we became involved in our relationship, and have continued to be messy after, but with the help of God, we have survived. More than that, we have enjoyed our life together!
