I really hate my birthday. I always feel really down and so I don’t like to make plans with friends… because I just feel like retreating.
My b-day is a Saturday this year. Think I’ll look into a nice B&B in Bento Goncalves (do a winery tour) or Gramado (eat fondue) and disappear for the weekend.

Happy Birthday in advance, I only visit 43T once a week so I may miss the special day. Loquinha, when I go to your page there is no link to send message, perhaps I am not looking at the right place, or do you prefer not to receive them…?
Thank you for the wishes!
Great screenname, btw. Witty.
Are you going to My life in Havaianas? If so, you click on my profile and on that page there’s a link to email me. I never intended to become ultra tech-savvy so my Blogger customization is… limited. Ha!
I absolutely love getting email. Fire away!

yes, I read your blog sometimes
but since you don’t have the usual “comments” bit below every post like some people have I thought perhaps you were interested in only getting email from friends from real life (not random strangers from the internet). So I’m glad I asked and I’ll be writing you later. Cheers :)
Ah-ha!
Well, actually I really love hearing from people that are reading along. I just left the Comments option off because I didn’t want to “monitor” it, and you know how sometimes people leave questionable, strange, inappropriate, private, or otherwise undesirable information on sites? Yeah, I didn’t want to deal with that. Ha!
So feedback is always welcome and encouraged – i just prefer it be sent through private channels. :)
b-day, blue day
I don’t celebrate my birthday (I don’t recall doing much, maybe I should call my Mom and Dad) and don’t care to. I am an advocate of travel and time spent alone, so I think you should do what you want. Nobody ever got old and said they wished they had travelled less.
right?
I know how you feel, I spent my last birthday in London and I wasn’t excited about it at all. As Drifter79 wisely said: ‘Nobody ever got old and said they wished they had travelled less.’
Anyway, Bento Gonçalves is quite a nice town, you definetely should go there. And you can also go to Festiqueijo in Carlos Barbosa (more information – and lots of Portuguese – on the site http://www.festiqueijo.com.br ). If you’re going to Gramado you shouldn’t miss ‘fondue na pedra’, it’s much better than the one you have to fry the meat in oil.
great tips, thanks!
Festiqueijo?! Sounds GREAT!
I’ll check it out!
Yes, I had fondue na pedra at Nova Olaria recently and it was divine!
I am loving POA (thought I knew I would) and we are have great weather – sweet. Are you still in Italy?
oops
I just saw the “back in Brazil” part! Ha! Where are you living?
Hahaha! Actually, after Italy, I’ve spent 5 months in London. I’m in Farroupilha now (it’s between Caxias do Sul and Bento Gonçalves), and I’m probably going to Festiqueijo this friday. Yummy!! ;)
By the way, Farroupilha has nice places to visit. If you’re coming to the serra gaucha, you should consider spending an afternoon here.
That’s my favorite place in Farroupilha: http://www.43places.com/places/view/1238438/salto-ventoso-farroupilha-rio-grande-do-sul
