Be a better atheist.
Life is about always growing

I have always thought of life as a continous journey of learning, practiicing, and growing. We hopefully continue to become better human beings through the roads of our life and in doing so either become better representatives of our spiritual philosophies or find reason to change them to match the realities we have learned and adopted in our behavior and attitudes. I am always in the process of becoming a better human being and so far, in becoming a better and better atheist. That does not mean that I am a religious atheist or immoral or bad or evil or angry as some unkown people might like to arbitrarily label me…it simply means that I always strive to be a decent human being with focused integrity in my philosophies and behaviors.

finally, an actual atheist in this thread. Apparently noone but you understands that the definition of atheism is the lack of belief in ANY god.

ok first off you are a very pretty woman. second i just have a question if you’re an atheist why is there a christmas tree in the background of your pic and you’re waring a santa hat?i mean you do realize that it’s about christ’s birth? I was just wondering?

Difference of Perspective

Thank you for the compliment.
As for your other questions and your objectionaable claims, your assumption of what something is about is based on the meaning that you yourself have agreed to attach to such things. Is a tree with lights and ornaments in of itself always about Christ’s birth? Or can a tree with lights and ornaments just be about beauty and happiness? Your (you and any other person who attaches such meaning to such symbols) symbols need not represent the same thing to me. I do give gifts and share in winter holiday season cheer with some of its fun aspects, but does that have to mean I believe in Christ, a god, or that I am honoring such entities? Of course not. What I am simply doing is enjoying life and beautiful trees and warm pretty lights on dark winter nights, giving gifts and home cooked foods and treats and love at a time when people rarely question so suspiciously such things…because their hearts are often open to life. Look around you. Out of the many millions who do celebrate with the many traditional symbols and rituals of the winter holiday season, how many of them actually ARE honoring Christ and how many of them are simply having a good time and being alive?
Besides, you might want to check your ideas about what anything is “about”. It is common knowledge that the ancient church stole pagan symbols (and the xmas date itself) and inserted them into christian ritual so that christianity would be more acceptable and adoptable to ancient pagan peoples.
And lastly, what does Santa have to do with Christ? Nothing really. What does wearing a red and white santa hat have to do with believing in god, Christ, or Santa? Nothing really. I don’t beleive in any of them as existing in reality, but the hat is fun to wear and it harms no one nor does it represent anything harmful as long as we regard it as what it is.
