Graduation Ceremonies today! 16 months ago

Matt is graduating today, from high school. There will be 200 graduates at the ceremony, so we could only get 2 tickets for each child. I’m very happy for Matt that he accomplished this and decided to work harder, academically, this year than in any other post-secondary year. :)

Congratulations!

...and good luck to Matt!

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks so much, Mary.

He’s going to College in the Fall and working this Summer as a cook at a local restaurant/roadhouse. He likes the part-time job. He had his prom a couple of weeks ago and they had fun.
How are you doing?

Kiki's waiting at the gate what's on the other side? Hope springs eternal...and so it goes...

Yay Matt

Way to go…gee I’m proud too!

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks, Kiki.

Nice to hear from you. Wishing you a great Summer with your family!

Pajodama is so sleepy, she wants to be home instead of waiting for her class :|

Congratulations to you both!

Saturnsglow First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you must do.

Yes, congratulations on reaching a great milestone of life:)

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks, SG. :)

Nice to hear from you. I think Matt found it to be bittersweet. It started to sink in with him that life is changing and he’s that much closer to being a young adult.

Congrats!

You must feel so proud.

My 4 year old just graduate pre-school.

:::sigh:::

I still have 13 years to go.

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks, Segsy.

Thank you for comments from the good girl gone bad. ;) Believe me, time flies. I can remember Matt’s first day in Junior Kindergarten.

Congrats Wayne to both you and Matt!

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks, Nikita.

Congrats to me for surviving through Matt’s high school years, hahaha…I have to say that this year has been trouble-free, because Matt decided to put the effort in at a new Catholic school that he transferred to.

We are not Catholic, but Matt liked the Grade 12 programs at Holy Trinity, plus his girlfriend went to that school as well. ;) Last Summer, we met with the principal and arranged for him to transfer.

That's good

I’m so glad it was a trouble free year! Sounds like he had alot of incentive to be going to the new school. :o)

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

haha....

uhuh…well put. In addition to his gf, lol, in the Fall semester, since it was a Catholic school, as one of his 3 courses that semester, Matt had to take Religion (he took it in French!) and there was an Emergency Services course, which taught him knowledge that paramedics, firefighters and police officers require.

In the Spring semester, he took 4 courses. Matt needed one more course in French to get his bilingual certificate. So he took French (not core French) and did well. Matt made it through early Immersion all the way from Senior Kindergarten! Also, in the Spring, because he had finished all of his compulsory courses, he took an elective, “Outdoor Ed.” which he really enjoyed. It was like Phys. Ed. outside! Whitewater Kayaking, which he had done many times before in Scouts & Venturers, camping, canoeing, cycling and other fun stuff. Also, this Spring, Matt’s gf was in his Grade 12 Science class and they teamed up to do a project together. Altogether, he really enjoyed his final year of HS.

MamaKitty Is loving November!

Cheers to Matt

And congrats to both Wayne and Matt. It is a wonderful and exciting time in life. Best wishes to both of you for a wonderful summer and successful transition to college. Will Matt going to college where you live, or be living away from home?

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

Thanks, MamaKitty.

Matt is going to a local college, so he won’t have to pay for room and board away from home. ;) It’s definitely a new situation and another chapter.

Nice to hear from you. Wishing you a beautiful Summer!

Jessy is remembering her mother today on the 9th anniversary of her death.

Fantastic!

A wonderful milestone for both of you. Congrats!

Waynesworld is starting to feel a little better.

(((((((Jessy)))))))

Thanks very much for your well-wishes, Jessy. I like the smiley person. :)
It was sometimes quite stressful, but now Matt has moved on to a new stage in life.

We are also pleased that he completed 10 courses in French during High School, so he received an official Bilingual Certificate for French and English. His knowledge of French will really help him if he wishes to stay in this part of Canada. We border on Québec and there is a requirement for two languages for roughly 80% of the job openings in Ottawa. When I hear my sons speak French, their accent is remarkable. ;) Even though Adam dropped out of Immersion in Grade 8, his accent is still quite good, since he was also in Early Immersion from age 5.

Waynesworld has gotten 23 cheers on this entry.
