When I’m sad or stressed…I eat.

Sigh.

Comments:

The nice thing about summer is

that you get to eat lots of food with next to no calories: watermelon, fresh cucumber, ripe fragrant tomatoes,... ;-)

True, true...

I guess I painted a really negative picture with that comment.

I’m not actually sitting down with a tub of ice cream or peanut butter. ha ha

Tomorrow is shopping day so I’ll be picking up lots of healthy food – which is what our fridge is filled with on a regular basis anyway.

I need to re-focus myself when I’m stressed….sounds logical & I already know it but it’s funny how sometimes when you’re just not in a good mood you just don’t listen to your own logical thinking.

Same here

I know what I should do when I`m stressed, like going for a walk, or running a nice hot bath, or telephoning a friend, but the ice cream, or chocolate dessert, or cookies, or whatever…it`s always there, it`s always good and comforting. You`re so right, it`s not always possible to listen to your own logical thinking.

Trauma_Junkie finished her half marathon!

Perhaps

its time to change that to when I am sad or stressed, I go for a 10 minute walk. Lots to see and will distract you from bad foods. Of course, watermelon, cantaloupe are all very good for you!

Please see response above...

You’re right Trauma_Junkie and I know it but sometimes reasonable thinking flies out the window.

Sometimes I just look at the yogurt and granola – and even though I have eaten two hours before and I really don’t need it – I just grab it anyway.

Mindless eating. It usually happens at night when hubby is working late and the kids are upstairs sleeping so I can’t go outside BUT I could go and do a workout video or use my bowflex machine.

Step away from the fridge and get active!

Thanks for your support! :)

me too.

I love this concept. Just might have to do this one myself.
