I hate my story so far, but I won’t give up. It’s day 4 and I’ve only got 1337 words. I’m sort of frustrated, because I can feel the writer’s block a-coming. I should have pre-planned better.

You know,
I had all these plans that I ditched at the last minute, and went with whatever my fingers started typing on Day 1.
It worked for me.
If you start to feel writer’s block already, do you think you would be in a world of trouble to just ditch what you have written and start fresh?
Hey, 1337=elite.
You can do it. Last year I did nano with 10 or so 5-8 k word days, mostly because that’s all the free time I had. The book was pretty odd by the end, but I did squeak across the line. You can, too.
I usually fly by the seat of my pants. I actually find any but the vaguest of outlines too confining.
You’ve got a start, which is the most important thing. Just let it come, and it will get better as you go. The main thing is to just keep writing! And remember: you’re not meant to write The Greatest Story Of All Time. You’re just trying to churn out 50,000 words in 30 days!
