It's a small world? No, but... 12 months ago

As a result of another website I visited (gasp!) I started counting the number of countries I visited and came up to 22 so far (if I’m not forgetting any…) but that includes the airport of Singapore. To my dismay I have not travelled in Africa or Asia yet (apart from aforementioned Singapore airport) and think I really should. Also large parts of Europe are unexplored like Italy, Greece and eastern Europe.

How many countries have you visited?
Which countries are on your wish list?

Sometimes I only saw one city or a small part of the area, sometimes much more, of the following countries:
Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland (Poznan & Warshaw), Germany (West part), Denmark (Jutland & Copenhagen), Sweden (area around Malmo), Norway (Bergen), US (West and East coast areas), England (London, Southwest, Bath), Australia (Brisbane), Turkey (Istanbul), Ireland (Limerick), Canada (just across the border near Buffalo, US), Mexico (Yucatan), Brazil, Switzerland (Lucerne), Lithuania (around Vilnius). And Singapore but that doesn’t count – although I do have the stamp in the passport!

I have visited:
England, Scotland, Wales and Guernsey. (Too many to list)
Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Chang)
Qatar (Stop Over in Doha Airport Only which is all sand and camels)
Next Month I’ll be visiting:
Sweden (Göteborg, Stockholm)
Holland (Amsterdam)
In November I should be going to:
Finland (Helsinki, Kuopio)
Then from December to May 09:
Thailand, Laos, Cambodia
And maybe:
Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore
And the PlanA™ is to go on to India May 09 to June 09 then home in time for Glastonbury Festival.

After that top of my wishlist (Places I don’t have a time frame for yet) is to check out some of South America and at some point Japan.

although i guess its easy when you have family there. In Ireland and Wales at least. Scotland is just such a beautiful place i cant not help wanting to see as much of it as i can :)

Although it’s mostly for work, I do love to travel and find out about new places. I always try to find a spot in a conference or project visit where I scout out the neighbourhood a little (or a lot). Usually I just ‘disappear’ from the scene. I lost a lot of good conference shoes hiking up forest and mountain trails! :o) Or I ask people to show me around (I like shameless self-inviting, wish people would do that more with me) and they usually want to!

France (most of it as it’s my home country), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Andalucia and Canary Islands), Morocco (Casablanca, Fes, Marrakesh, Rabat), England (London, Wilshire, Yorkshire), Ireland (Dublin), Germany (mostly just driving through), Belgium (same as Germany), Luxembourg, Monaco (used to work there), Switzerland, Italy (mostly by the French border), Andorra, Tunisia, Poland (just driving through), ex-USSR (Moscow), Denmark (most of it as I live here), Sweden (Malmö and Helsingborg), Norway (a lot of it between Oslo and Tromsö), Greece (Peloponnese), USA (Texas and Florida), Mexico (1 day in Cozumel), Cayman Islands (1 day), Jamaica (1 day in Ocho Rios), Haiti (1 day in Labadee).

Wow! That’s 24! Didn’t think it was that much!

Australia, Ireland, Scotland, England, Costa Rica. that makes 5.

i leave in 2 weeks for norway, italy, france, spain, morocco. then it will be 10.

Which countries are on your wish list?
all of them. but at the top of the list: the balkans (croatia in particular), japan, new zealand, indonesia, vietnam, india, jordan.

The only country I have ever been to is mine. That may change someday, I’m not sure. Right now I’m going to new places in my country for the first time. My family never traveled when I was younger and now with the boyfriend I am able to some. First I’m just traveling around here, maybe I’ll go to another country some day.

I don’t have any countries on my wish list. I’ve never imagined myself traveling and haven’t thought about it much.
