Charlie is optimistic about the future.
Not as much as I would like. I only have a mountain bike, so I in the process of making it as rideable as I can until I sell. I have been, ahem, INFORMED, by my beloved that I may not get a road bike until the other bike is sold. So I am Craigslisting it.
I have another bike that I am building up into something near rideable, but it’ll a frankenbike in the end – old heavy hi-ten steel frame, drop bars and stem shifters, but with a very mountainish riding position and a mountain crank (42 teeth). The crank came on it, and I am confident enough in my bike tinkering skills yet to fiddle with the drivetrain components.
In other words, I am making do the best I can.
