eat a real truffle (read all 2 entries…)
Still not there yet 12 months ago

I even went to the Savoi region of France on a ski trip in March and unfortunately the restaurants we went to didn’t do truffles, I did go past one that did and it was only a 35 Euro meal whcih is not too bad especially when you consider that on the final night some of us went to a club and I bought the first round of 2 beers (heineken in a bottle as it turned out), one vodka orange and the smallest bottle of water you have ever seen and it all came to 76 Euros. At the time the Euro rate was around 1.3 to the pound or 1.6 dollars so thats a fair whack for a few drinks.

Comments:

76euros? would almost make each drink 20euros???
Anyway, I’m not surprised of the small bottle of water, remind me of several souvenirs haha.. and not surprised it was expensive (not that expensive though..), these trend/tourist traps (French tourists as well), this is just getting so ridiculous.

Otherwise, about the truffle, keep trying!! We used to have scrambled eggs with truffle for christmas and this is awesome!!

whats a truffle?

like chocolate?

It's a fungus

kind of like a mushroom. They grow in teh forests and pigs are used to find them as they have a special smell and like them. Trufles can be pretty expensive.
