Survived the first week but the timeline lies (note the pun) in tatters. All that I can do is keep doing things I know need to be done and stop worrying about the timeline. I hate these artificial deadlines anyway. It’s just not how I work – I don’t know a month in advance what part of the work that needs doing I’ll feel like tackling on a particular day. I have a tendency to sit down one day and ‘accidentally’ write a couple of thousand words or come up with just the right idea for what I need to do next. You can’t force that. External ‘hard’ deadlines I can cope with, in fact they provide structure that forces the pace of my work. It’s these ‘time management’ self imposed ones I struggle with.

Still let’s celebrate small victories along the way. It is the end of the first week, the sun is shining, I got some useful stuff done although not all that I was ‘supposed’ to, and I survived.
