learn pilates
Ugh, soreness. 3 months ago

Well, I’ve got the ball and the video. Oh, and that stretchy thing too, whatever it’s called. Any advice on how to get motivated? Pilates just makes me sore so far!!!

motivation for me always involves thinking of the things i want: ever gone somewhere and you saw someone really cute and thought, wow i wish they noticed me?
that’s what you have to think of every time you want to just stop and watch tv. think of all the heads that will turn as you become more fit! and exercising has so many more benefits.
-great for your skin
-prolongs your life
-helps you sleep better
-gives you more energy
try to be persistent. just when you want to stop, tell yourself you’ll so it 5 more minutes. and increase that by 10 minutes the next time you work out…

and about the soreness, i know just how bad soreness can get because i play volleyball and have to train pre-season. just stretch postworkout and before you go to bed and take hot baths. and don’t overwork yourself.

I would add...

... that taking rest days is not a sign of weakness, as long as you are consistent about getting your exercise in. It’s useful, in fact.

I think drinking a preposterous amount of water can also be helpful in dealing with soreness.
