Well, we walked around the ‘loft’ for about 30 minutes yesterday coming up with a game plan. We’ve figured out a way to lay the floor plan out so we can divide our one big loft into two, if we decide to later. So now that we have a floor plan in mind Joe is going to find some kind of computer program that we can actually make the floor plans on. My goal this week is to try and get caught up on framing and cleaning the bottom floor so that this weekend we can spend all our time on the loft instead of playing catch up with the frame shop. We are going to remodel the small ‘guest bath’ that is already in place upstairs first, so that we can go ahead and move in. I still haven’t written up my full game plan like I normally like to do, but that will come in a few weeks.

Dream space
A loft has always been my dream space. Kudos for this goal.
There are plenty of computer programs out there to do floor plans and then have it render a visualization. Ironically (serendipitously? as fate’s hand is working?), I just got through installing one a few minutes ago, to play with, just for fun.
I’m not going to recommend it at this point, though. It is called Total 3D Home Design, and I bought it for $9.99 at Staple’s, and you kind of get what you pay for.
Needless to say, there are plenty Home Design software programs out there ranging from $9.99 to around $200.00. Good luck finding one that suits the needs for the two of you.
I wish you success with the game plan, and meeting your move in challenge. It’ll be a lot of work as it gets closer, but to me, it sounds so worth it!
