We had one when I was child…it was build in the rock in the back of the house.
It’s a very good way to keep food….much better than a fridge.

I haven’t checked it out yet, but I definitely will. Also, it’s good to talk to someone who had one and is able to testify to a root cellar’s usefulness.

About my pictures…they are all taken just recently and from near where I live appart one “the statue of Isaac Newton” which is 60 miles or so from here and 1-2 year old.

were taken recently on our property. The pictures of the babies and skateboarding teenager are my grandchildren.
The picture of the tiger was taken at a really cool animal park that is in the town near to our farm. This animal park takes in exotic animals from zooes (sp), circuses, and from private owners who can’t keep the animals any longer. The animal park takes on the responsibility of the animals for life. Many times if the animals weren’t taken by the park, or another animal park, the animal would have to be destroyed. The tigers there are beautiful.
The picture of the courthouse is in the same town as the animal park, and the other pictures were taken in northern Indiana, not far from where I live. There’s lots of corn and soybean fields in Indiana. It’s the land of corn and beans. There are also lots of hay fields in Indiana.
North of where we live there are large communities of Amish people. Do you know about the Amish?
The wild bean flower in your photo is wonderful. Also, is that a poppy field? It’s gorgeous. And the lake with the swans on it is amazing. It looks like it’s a beautiful area where you live.

Yes I heard about the Amish people…they seems very nice people, close to nature and living in communities…they are also very peacefull people. I have never seen them appart on TV and books….so if you like to tell me more about them as you sure know much more than me.
Do they still build their own house with their community ? Are they still not using any electrical device ? Do their rules change from one group to another, or do they all follow the same rules ?
The bean-flower pic is a close-up.
Yes the red field are poppies flowers…it’s the flower of the area…..in this area we also see some other colours…like purple or white poppy but not so many as the red.
There are lots of beautiful things not far from where I live…5,10 or 15 miles….but as I have no car, I can’t go there very often…have to wait when some friends want to go.
The town isn’t beautiful in general, just very little to see.
I will have to post some pics of other areas in England.

About your camera; I have read somewhere…”you wanted to fix it but didn’t want to be without it too long”. Maybe you can visit the place where you will get it fixed or phone them and tell them about the problem, asking them how long long it will take, and when it’s best to bring it so you can get it back quickly. Just an idea.
By the way I added more photos on my page….many new are from Cornwall in extreme south west part of Britain and a few more from the area where I live.
Sorry to write about different things under one goal…I am still confused where to find certain things in this communities.
