Jamie A.K.A. Poetry Boy misses everyone very much

Celebrate Jenn's birthday on July 15th
Happy Birthday Jenn 5 months ago

Wishing you a day filled with beauty, joy, and laughter. Have the happiest and most wonderful of days. I hope the next year brings you all that you are looking for and want it to.

Happy Birthday, my friend.

Comments:

Fess up.

You read that on a Hallmark Card, no?

LOL

No, though now that you mention it I can see why you think so.

Tink is beaming love and light toward Gemm and Jamie.

Unc, I'm here to tell you...

...that Jamie could write Hallmark Cards.

As I said to him at the time he posted that entry, “If that’s what you’re capable of writing to a platonic female friend, your actual love letters must be a genuine wonder to behold.”

And believe me, I know from love letters.

I've penned one or two myself, over the years.

I just found Jenn’s Hallmark card, a la Jamie, one of those generic, honey-thick, overly schmaltz-ridden sorts that I don’t find very interesting or appealing.

Tink is beaming love and light toward Gemm and Jamie.

Guess it's just as well...

...that it wasn’t meant to be interesting or appealing to you. Jenn herself seems to have been charmed.

“One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor” – or, as my friend Anna says (translating a saying that’s apparently common in her home country), “That’s why the butcher sells the whole cow. People like different parts.”

Blows kiss in Unc’s direction and ducks, anticipating heifer jokes. Or jokes about who-knows-what that she just handed him the perfect straight line(s) for.

I'm delighted that Jenn is delighted.

And, you’re right, it WAS meant for her, though that has nothing at all to do with me thinking she should have been afforded something more substantive.

Like…um…ahem...a lovely limerick.

Contemplative Jenn is feeling like a stranger in the new year

Hallmark or not

It’s lovely. And I have no doubt heartfelt, which is the key to my birthday happiness. Thank you, sweetness, for the image and the wishes. I will propel myself there in my little head, taking in the color and the breeze. And maybe I’ll even go for a swim. Thank you.

The deep, dulcet baritone of the...

...voice-over announcer accompanies the credits…

And with that, Uncle Enore is once again put in his place, nevermore to be a vexation to this calm and tranquil venue…

Jamie A.K.A. Poetry Boy has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
