Obama

I backed Hillary but of course I will support Obama because I care about the issues more than the person; however, it was great today to hear Obama lay out his foreign policy agenda—I support his agenda wholeheartedly and felt kind of excited by his candidacy for the first time!

I’m an English teacher. What’s more,I’m an OLD English teacher who learned her grammar and punctuation in a very traditional 1950s classroom. Shoot, I’m the last person on earth who can diagram a complex sentence.

Punctuation and Politics

I admire both your use of the semicolon and your ability to get behind Barak after backing Hillary. I’m usually okay using the semicolon but haven’t managed to master getting behind Barak yet.

Courts

I actually find Obama growing on me, but even if he weren’t,I would vote for him simply because of the Supreme Court. My son the lawyer points out that the president not only appoints the justices on the Supreme and federal circuit courts, but really appoints an entire federal infrastructure—Justice Department hires, etc. McCain has already promised the right wing of his party that he will appoint justices that they will like. That means I WON’T like them. So, there you have it: my post-Hillary pitch to back Obama. (And a colon thrown in for good measure!)
