stop getting junk mail (read all 11 entries…)

Worth doing!

Bank of America  — 2 years ago

Supposedly I will stop receiving those rassenfrassen “courtesy checks” within four weeks.

Apparently, according to state law, I cannot opt out of receiving paper credit card statements. Bah. I do all my credit-card banking online, and I’d rather not have anybody fishing my CC statement out of my mailbox. Nothing to do about that but write my state representative, I guess.

Good Luck...

Can you do this in RI?

What really miffs me is that they pay a lower postal rate than I do…

Cam

I think you can. It’s worth calling your credit card company to find out.

You can stop “courtesy checks”?

I’ll have to call up my credit card companies and ask about that.

Cam

Grrr

I’ve gotten two more “courtesy check” mailings in the last couple of weeks. Or are they called “convenience checks”? Could be either—they are certainly a check on my convenience and courtesy. How I hates them. Just two more weeks before they’re supposed to stop.

Cam

Oh, for crying out loud! One more courtesy check mailing. The date on the letter is December 2. They’re really taking it down to the wire here.

To Cam:

For those who bank at Bank of America and do it on-line, you can do “E-Bills” and select to get a lot of your bills on-line through bank of america. It’s really easy & free!! Not all credit card companies do Bank of America’s “e-bills” but most will send you an on-line only statement. Usually you have to go your credit card company’s homepage and set up an on-line acct. Once in, they usually let you choose how you get billed. As for Bank of America, if you click on the privacy policy link at the bottom of the page, they tell you how to get off their mailing lists (excluding your credit card or mortgage statements.) I just did it the other day. Also, an awesome way to stop getting “pre-approved” credit card offers in the mail is to call: 1-888-567-8688. They take you off the list for the 3 major credit reporting bureaus which is where the credit card companies get your info. in the first place.

Good luck!!!

Cam has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
